My Vision: The Future of Game Development
Based on 20+ years shipping live service games and analyzing what works (and what doesn't), here's my strategic perspective on where the industry is heading and how I approach the challenges shaping tomorrow's game development.
The Future of GaaS
Beyond Content Velocity: The next decade of live service success isn't about shipping faster—it's about building sustainable, data-informed production pipelines. Architecture for live operations from day one, parallel development streams, and empowered QA are non-negotiable.
AI as Production Accelerant
Augmentation, Not Replacement: I've built practical AI tools that reduce manual work by 98% (Jira automation, build analysis, reporting). The future belongs to AI-augmented producers who automate grunt work to focus on strategic problems and human relationships.
Data-Driven Culture
Blameless Process Improvement: Implement standardized post-mortems, track historical patterns, and create psychological safety for "fail often and early." The studios that succeed will be those that build intelligent, sustainable systems.
Team-Centric Leadership
If Your Team Doesn't Play, You Have a Problem: Internal churn is the canary in the coal mine for player churn. Mandate long-running playtests and ensure your development team genuinely wants to play your game.
